In this election Helen K. Rosenthal came in first with 87% of the vote which amounted to 32,289 votes. Hyman Drusin came in second and obtained 10% of the vote which amounted to 3,731 votes. Other candidates included William H. Raudenbush who obtained 3% of the vote which amounted to 973 votes. The total non-write-in votes in this election were 36,993.
